Recap: Toosii performing at House of Blues X Houston on Aug 5

Toosii perofomed for a sold out crowd at House of Blues Houston. Thousands of fans packed the concert hall with hundreds still in line as we walked up. From the moment the lights dimmed and Toosii hit the stage the energy was electric. Fans took part in the resurgent trend of throwing braws on stage (some where in the neighborhood of 15 were hurtled toward the stage from all directions and in all shapes and sizes.) So much so in fact, that Toosii had to plead for them to stop throwing their over the shoulder boulder holders on stage.

the energy level was so hype that NauJour left the stage and made his way up stairs into the balcony area, then at the request of the crowd he found his way through the audience in to the VIP section which had the fans going nuts, he even popped into the general section of the crowd and had fun with his peoples. He was joined on stage by Dess Dior & Aaron Page .

Listen to Toosii’s latest album NAUJOUR and check out his viral smash hit “Favorite Song”

With pleading melodies and unbound emotions, Toosii renders personal tales of street strife and romantic yearning in an elegant, soulful style.

Since emerging in 2019, he’s has mined memories and sensations for songs that are raw and intimate, becoming one of the most affecting crooners of his era. He reaffirms that status with his debut album, NAUJOUR, a sleek constellation of smoky warbles, dexterous raps, and immersive anthems for lovers. Toosii’s journey to NAUJOUR began in Syracuse 23 years ago.

Inspired by his brother and father, Toosii began focusing on music after relocating to Raleigh as a teen. By 2017, he’d gotten traction with Why Not Now, his debut EP chronicling his transition from the street to the studio.  After releasing a stream of projects between 2017 and 2019, Toosii released his South Coast Music Group debut, Platinum Heart, which included fan favorites such as “Love Cycle” and “Red Lights.” Poetic Pain followed which injected Toosii into the national consciousness, positioning him to be named an XXL Freshman in 2021. From there, he kept up his momentum with efforts like Thank You for Believing and Pretty Girls Love Toosii. Released after the birth of his son, 2022’s Boys Don’t Cry saw Toosii reach even deeper into his emotions.

Looking ahead, Toosii wants to reach more listeners, folks who found strength in vulnerability. “I want people to understand who I am and recognize that I’m going to be around forever,” he says. “Not just for the moment.”
